(NEWPORT BEACH, CA) — On November 30, 2012, the Newport Beach Police Department arrested Christopher McKenzie, of Costa Mesa, for 288(a) P.C. – Lewd & lascivious acts with a child. In the week prior to his arrest, the Newport Beach Police Department received information from multiple male victims indicating McKenzie had a sexual relationship with them over a period of many years. The age of the victims during these incidents of inappropriate contact ranged from 8 years of age through 16 years of age.
Based on the investigation, a no-bail arrest warrant for McKenzie was obtained and executed. McKenzie was booked at the Newport Beach Police Department’s Jail and later transported to the Orange County Jail without incident. McKenzie is scheduled to be arraigned at the Harbor Justice Center early next week.
McKenzie is currently employed as a pool cleaner servicing locations throughout the Orange County area, and he is also a volunteer Sunday school teacher at ROCKHARBOR Church in Costa Mesa. At this point in the investigation there is no indication that the suspect engaged in an inappropriate sexual relationship was anyone affiliated with ROCKHARBOR Church.
