A 16-year-old teen missing from Salem, Ohio, has been found safe, thanks to the efforts of social media.
Lindsey Marie Shasteen went missing on Wednesday from her home in Salem; we contacted the family around 9pm last evening, after hearing her case was not receiving media attention. By 9am this morning, Lindsey’s story had been viewed more than 1,200 times on our website, and shared more than 900 times on FaceBook and Twitter; and that pressure led to her safe return.
Her brother, Jason, tells us Lindsey returned to Canton as a result of the online awareness, and his sister is now safe and unharmed. “Apparently they saw all the social media attention and brought her back,” Jason told Victims News Online.
Lindsey’s family extends their deepest gratitude to all who shared her story.
