Four years after a Michigan man disappeared into the woods of the Upper Peninsula (UP), Derrick Henagan’s family and friends refuse to give up looking until he is found.
Derrick Ray Henagan was first reported missing by his then-girlfriend, Dianne Maddox. The last known sighting of Derrick was on August 4th, 2008, when he reportedly left a friend’s house on M-135 in Newberry, MI. It is believed Derrick was planning to cut through some nearby woods heading towards his home, but he never arrived.
Originally from St. Joseph, MI, Derrick was a popular athlete in school, having been a wrestling champ in the Lakeshore School District and a beloved basketball player. A volunteer on Derrick’s case told MPN he “Loved the beach, was proficient in swimming and was an avid snowmobile enthusiast.”
A FaceBook page has been created to share updates and information, and a petition event is currently circulating, asking for authorities to aggressively pursue the case.
A $5,000 reward is being offered for the whereabouts of Derrick Henagan. If you have any information, please call the Michigan State Police / St. Ignace Post at (906) 643-7582.
