A 38-year-old west Texas man missing since Monday has been found deceased.
Daniel “Danny” Moses was last seen around 1:00pm Monday at his home on Ent Drive in Big Spring, Texas. His body was discovered late this afternoon by kids playing in a wooded area off Barksdale Drive, approximately 1/3 mile from his home.
Victims News Online staff and members of the Howard County volunteer search team were at the Moses’ home preparing for a ground search when Big Spring Police officers arrived to make the notification. Officers told the victim’s mother, Sharon Moses, her son may have slipped on loose gravel and fallen into the woods, but a full investigation is being conducted. Soon after, members of the BSPD Crime Scene Unit arrived, where they thoroughly checked the victim’s bedroom and interviewed those present.
Danny Moses did suffer from a series of mental health issues, and early reports indicate he may have recently stopped taking his medication. His mother said it was “unlike him to walk away from the house”, and that in recent weeks, he had been physically weak and spent a lot of time in his bedroom. His ID, wallet, and medications were all left in the home.
A complete autopsy — including toxicology testing — will be conducted over the weekend in Lubbock, and detectives will have more information upon their completion. In the meantime, the investigation into Danny Moses’ death continues.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Amie Soles with the Big Spring Police Department at (432) 264-2554.
